Finding Relief from Anxiety
Anxiety can feel like living in a constant state of “what if.” It can show up as racing thoughts, tightness in the chest, trouble sleeping, irritability, or the sense that you’re always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Sometimes it’s connected to specific fears, and other times it’s a free-floating unease that follows you through the day. Anxiety can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to run your life.
In therapy, we’ll explore what fuels your anxiety and find ways to calm both mind and body. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you step out of the struggle with anxious thoughts and start building a life guided by your values rather than fear. With Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), we’ll practice concrete skills for emotional regulation, mindfulness, and distress tolerance, so that when anxiety spikes, you have tools to meet it.
Because anxiety is not just in the mind but also in the body, I integrate somatic and mind-body practices to support nervous system regulation. I incorporate the Community Resiliency Model (CRM)—a practical, evidence-based approach that teaches you to track your body’s stress and resilience responses, giving you tools to bring yourself back into balance in daily life.
Together, we’ll create space for both relief in the moment and long-term change. Over time, you can experience more calm, clarity, and confidence—learning not only how to manage anxiety but how to move forward with a deeper sense of strength and steadiness.
