Who Am I?
I believe therapy is a sacred space. A place where you can lay your burdens down, explore your truth, and be deeply heard without judgment. I approach my work with collaboration, compassion, and curiosity, listening closely not just to your words, but to the emotions, stories, and possibilities underneath them.
I work with adults and teens navigating anxiety, trauma, attachment wounds, addiction, life transitions, and the complicated terrain of being human. My approach is integrative, drawing from ACT, mindfulness practices, expressive arts, DBT, CPT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy. While I have a rich toolbox, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all process — I tailor our work to meet your unique needs, strengths, and pace.
Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, I’ve called Asheville home since 2006. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UNC-Asheville in 2008, then spent a year in Peru teaching English and learning from a different culture. After completing my Master’s in Social Work at Western Carolina University in 2015, I spent over a decade working in community mental health, specifically in recovery education centers, medication-assisted treatment, and integrated care clinics. Working with folks from all different walks of life has had a profound impact on me as a therapist. In 2023, I began clinically supervising provisionally licensed social workers and mental health counselors — a role that’s deepened my appreciation for guiding new clinicians.
Outside of the therapy room, you’ll find me taking long walks with my partner, writing, painting, dancing, and laughing at the antics of our three quirky cats, Penny, Clementine, and Luna.
